School Policies

1. The 2008-2009 music year will be divided into 4 terms of 10 lessons each beginning the week of September 8th and ending June 20th.
2. A Note Above's 2009 Stars Gala week will take place June 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th & 27th.
3. Payments may be made by cheque(s); recurring credit card # including MC or Visa; Debit; and/or Cash. Note: There will be a 5% surcharge on all MC, Visa, and Debit payments.
4. To reserve your day/time/teacher, lesson payments must be paid in advance, for each term by Aug. 23rd, Nov. 1st, Jan. 17th, and Mar. 28th.
5. Term lesson payments are non-refundable after a student has attended 2 lessons.
6. In fairness to our professional Contractor/Teachers, who rely on their teaching income, a minimum of 2 weeks notice of a student's intention to discontinue lessons must be given, in writing, to the music school office or a $40 cancellation fee will be charged.
7. Reasonable effort will be made to reschedule 1 lesson missed during the school year through illness or other similar cause when at least 6 hours notice is given. Time lost because of a student's lateness cannot be made up.
8. 2% per month will be charged on overdue accounts. There will be a $20 charge on all NSF cheques.
9. A Note Above reserves the right to suspend a student's lessons after two weeks of non-payment of tuition.
10. A Note Above will be closed on the following holiday dates: Oct. 13, Dec. 24 - Jan.4, Feb. 16, apr. 10 & 13, and May 18. Lesson payments will be adjusted accordingly.
11. The student must not enter into examinations, performances or auditions without the prior knowledge and approval of the teacher.
12. Contractor/Teachers respect the provision of Federal Legislation regarding protection of privacy.  Personal information provided by parents will not be shared with others without the express authorization by parents.
13. Contractor/Teachers are bound by the Code of Ethics contained in the By-Laws of The Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association.
