
School Policies
- The 2009-2010 music year will be divided into 4 terms of 10 lessons each beginning the week of September 7th and ending June 19th.
- Our A Note Above 2010 Stars Gala week will take place June 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th & 26th.
- Term Payments may be made by cheque(s) or Cash. We no longer accept credit card or debit payments Note: There will be a $25.00 charge on any NSF cheques.
- To reserve your day/time/teacher, lesson payments must be paid in advance, for each term by Aug. 16th, Nov. 16th, Feb. 1st, and April 12th.
- Term lesson payments are non-refundable after a student has attended 2 lessons.
- In fairness to our professional Contractor/Teachers, who rely on their teaching income, a minimum of 2 weeks notice of a student's intention to discontinue lessons must be given, in writing, to the music school office or a $40 cancellation fee will be charged.
- Reasonable effort will be made to reschedule 1 lesson missed during the school year through illness or other similar cause when at least 6 hours notice is given. Time lost because of a student's lateness cannot be made up.
- 2% per month will be charged on overdue accounts.
A Note Above reserves the right to suspend a student's lessons after two weeks of non-payment of tuition.
- A Note Above will be closed on the following holiday dates: Oct. 12, Dec. 24 - Jan.1, Feb. 15, Apr. 2 & 5, and May 24. Lesson payments will be adjusted accordingly.
- The student must not enter into examinations, performances or auditions without the prior knowledge and approval of the teacher.
- Contractor/Teachers respect the provision of Federal Legislation regarding protection of privacy. Personal information provided by parents will not be shared with others without the express authorization by parents.
- Contractor/Teachers are bound by the Code of Ethics contained in the By-Laws of The Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association (ORMTA).
