Jean Blakemore, Piano
Jean began playing piano as a child in England, taking exams with the London College of Music.
After coming to Canada, she was a student at Dean's Music Centre, and has been studying with Eva Marshall at A Note Above since 2005.  As well as teaching piano at A Note Above, Jean is currently working towards her Teacher's ARCT in Piano Pedagogy.
In her spare time Jean likes to volunteer within her community, and has been recognized by several of the organizations she has volunteered for over the years.
Jean has been an instructor at A Note Above since 2005.

Dan Willer, Guitar
Dan began his musical studies at the age of 14. After extensive studies in the genres of Rock, Blues, Pop, and Classical with Jimmy Lee Fuller, Dan became interested in improvisation and composition.  He became a student at Mohawk College where he received his Diploma in Jazz Music.
Dan resides in Hamilton where he is busy as a performer and educator.  His talents as a teacher and musician have led him to instruct throughout the Greater Toronto Region, and he has played in venues all across Ontario and Quebec.  He has recorded a number of albums with several different groups and individuals.
Currently, Dan has over 40 guitar/music students and continues to play, record and freelance.  Dan started Willer Musical Entertainment in 2010.  He has been an instructor with A Note Above since 2007. 

Karen Gross, Voice/Piano/Theory
Karen has been involved in music all her life.  Growing up in a musical family, she began singing solos in church when she was 5 years old and has been singing ever since!  She has had opportunities to sing on the stages of Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall. Karen has also taught music and theory, as well as conducted choirs at Music Camps for The Salvation Army during the summer.
Her accomplishments include various scholarships for Voice as well as a Silver Medal from The Royal Conservatory.  She is currently finishing up studies for her Teacher's ARCT in Voice with Dr. Joan Heels, and is studying piano with Eva Marshall.
Karen has been an instructor with A Note Above since it began in 2005, and is an Associate Member of The Ontario Registered Music Teacher's Association (ORMTA). 

David Wilson, Piano/Theory
David began piano lessons at the age of 5 with his mother as his first teacher.  Coming from a very musical family, David also took up the violin at an early age.  He performed in recitals and other events, leading him into studying piano with The Royal Conservatory, and also auditioned for The University of Toronto, Faculty of Music.  During this time, he performed recitals, and worked as an accompanist.
David received his Licentiate Diploma from U of T, and auditioned for his B. Mus. in piano performance from McGill University.
In 1991 David was appointed to the faculty of the Royal Conservatory of Music where he taught piano and theory.  During his time there, David trained to be an Examiner in both piano and theory.  He adjudicated piano evaluations, taught theory through correspondence, as well as in the classroom.  He also lectured and performed a recital on the music of Franz Liszt.
David has been an instructor at A Note Above since 2006, and is an active member of The Ontario Registered Music Teacher's Association (ORMTA).
